Deze maand zet ik samen met m'n fantastische Design Team Power Poppy in de kijker. 

Ik ben al jaren fan van de artieste Marcella Hawley,

zij ontwierp vroeger stempels voor het merk Flourishes

(voor de geïnteresseerden: ik heb hiervan nog een 12-tal sets in de winkel)

en nu heeft ze dus een eigen firma: Power Poppy

 

This month me and my fabulous Design Team are showcasing the Power Poppy stamps.

I've been a fan of Marcelly Hawley (the designer) for years now,

she used to design stamps for the brand Flourishes

(for those who are interested, I still have about 12 sets of these in my shop)

and now she has her own brand: Power Poppy

 

De stempels die ik hier gebruikt heb staan op de set Planning for Magnolias

Kijk maar eens hoe gedetailleerd de stempels wel zijn en hoe mooi dat ze afdrukken !

 

The stamps that I used here are from the set: Planning for Magnolias.

Just look how detailed the stamps are and how crips the prints are !

 

Ik heb mijn adrukje gestempeld met Versafine Onyx Black op fluweelkarton

en ingekleurd met m'n Faber Castell A. Dürer aquarel potloden.

De kleuren heb ik aangepast aan mijn papier (Pink Floret van ATB)

 

I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on Fluweel cardstock

and colored it with my Faber Castell A. Dürer watercolor pencils.

I choose colors that coördinated with my paper (Pink Floret from ATB)

Een zeer fijn en gezond 2016 ook vanwege mij...

 

Also from me, a very nice and healthy 2016...

 

Wij zijn als DT-team weer zo verwend door Inge! Onder de kerstboom lag voor ieder DT-lid een prachtig pakket, met allerlei hele leuke spullen. Zo leuk, dat ik er ook meteen mee aan slag wou gaan.

 

We - the DT - are so spoiled by Inge! Under the Christmas tree was a stunning prestent for each DT member, with all sorts of really nice stuff. So much that I immediately wanted to get creative with it.

 

Daarnaast had ik ook nog de fantastische "doily punch starter set" van Martha Stewart besteld en die was binnen gekomen... dus de pret kon niet op.

Mocht je nog niet weten wat te kopen met de centjes die je kreeg tijdens de feestdagen.... Wel dit is een echte aanrader! Ik ben er zo blij mee.

 

In addition, I also ordered the fantastic "doily punch starter set" from Martha Stewart that arrived just in time, ... so this made me want to get home and get started even faster.

If you still don't know what to buy with the money you received during the holidays .... Well this is a real winner! I'm so happy with it!

 

Deze pons maakt fantastische kanten kleedjes, die je kan verwerken in kaarten, scrapbookpagina's of bij je bakwerk en/of tafelversiering...  Een klein minpunt... er zit geen werkbeschrijving bij in de doos. Maar op het web kan je kijken hoe de pons werkt (hier alvast een link naar een filmpje) of je vraagt de uitleg aan Inge natuurlijk. Ik heb het zonder de twee voor elkaar gekregen, dus moeilijk is het niet.

 

This punch makes great lace doilies, that you can use on cards, scrapbook pages or if you like baking and need some doilies or for your table décorations .... One small downside ... there is no job description included in the box. But on the internet, you can watch the punch work (here is a link to 1 YouTube video) or you ask Inge how it works. I got it to work without the two, so it is not difficult.

 

Maar nu genoeg hierover. Hier is mijn kaart voor vandaag.

 

But enough of that. Here is my card for today.

 

De basis is 13x13 cm in craftpapier. Daarop heb ik een halve doily

(van mijn nieuw speelgoedje dus) gekleefd in wit linnen papier.

Links een stukje gescheurd ecru cardstock, waarop ik met "Rich Cacao" van Memento Luxe een tekst heb afgedrukt.

 

The basecard is 13x13 cm in kraft paper. Then I made a half doily (with my new toy) from white linen cardstock and attached it on the right side of the card. On the left I put a smaller piece of torn ecru card stock, on which I stamped a text with "Rich Cocoa" Memento Luxe.

 

Vervolgens een tag-envelopje gemaakt. Onderkant hiervan is een  kraft tag en bovenaan een stukje designpapier van Autentique.

 

Next I made a tag envelope. This is a kraft tag and on top a piece of design paper from Autentique.

Dan een tweede tag gemaakt uit ecru cardstock en met restjes papier versiert. Het tekstlabeltje komt uit een vel, met allerlei kerst- en eindejaarswensen van Around the block.

Het rondje "Joy" hebt ik uit een vel van Teresa Collins geponst.

 

Then I made a second tag from ecru card stock and decorated it with scraps of paper. The text comes from a label sheet, with all kinds of Christmas and New Year wishes from Around the block.

The circle with "Joy" I punched out of a sheet of Teresa Collins paper.

 

 

De tag met Happy 2016... Wel die is gemaakt, met cijfer-dies (taylored expressions) uit mijn pakket dat ik cadeau kreeg.

The tag with Happy 2016 ... Well that was created with number dies (from taylored expressions) from my present that I got from Inge.

Feed the birds

Een nieuw jaar en meteen terug nieuwe projectjes van het DT-team…

A new year and new projects from the DT ....

 

Het wil precies maar niet gaan winteren, maar toch kunnen onze gevleugelde vriendjes buiten wat hulp gebruiken.
Toen ik dit papier van Bo Bunny zag, wist ik meteen wat ik er mee wou doen. Het papier zelf was dus mijn inspiratie om dit mezenbollenhuisje te maken.

It might not really be winter, but our feathered friends can still use some help.

When I saw this paper from Bo Bunny, I immediatly new what I wanted to do with it. The paper itself was my inspiration to create this housebox with winterfood.

 

Ik tekende zelf het patroon en knipte alles met de hand en de snijmachine… Ben helemaal niet in het bezit van een Silouette of familie er van, dus het patroon komt uit mijn kopke…

I designed the pattern myself and cut it out by hand. I don't own a Silhouette or related machine, so the pattern came from my own creation.

 

Ik maakte eerst een doosje in plastiekfolie en daarrond het vogelhuisje… Het dakje staat los van het doosje en schuift over het plastieken binnendoosje.

First I made the box out of transparency, and then I made the birdhouse around it ... The roof is loose, and just slides over the transparent box inside.

 

Er passen 4 mezenbolletjes in…

you can fit 4 of this seed balls in it ...

 

Een klein zakje volgelzaad, een lintje en een leuke pin van Artound the Block maken het geheel af.

A little bag with birdseed, a ribbon and a metal pin from Around te Block finishes it off.

Ik maakte het ondertussen al enkele keren om kado te geven en het werd steeds leuk onthaald.

I made several of these as gifts, and all of them were a hit.

Christmas album: Twelve Days of Christmas

Hi everyone,

 

Het is bijna zover...Kerstmis!

It's almost time for...Christmas!

 

Een tijd waar ik altijd naar uitkijk, tot het zover is.

A time I love and look forward to, untill it's almost there.

 

Of ik geraak niet klaar met mijn kerstkaarten of het is om zonder ik het goed weet.

I'm either not ready with my Christmas cards, or it's over before I even realize it's there..

 

Maar dit jaar heb ik eens geprobeerd om op tijd te starten en een album te maken.

But this year, I tried to get started on time and make a Christmas album.

 

Ik laat hem graag aan jullie zien, hier op het blog en in de winkel.

I love showing you this album here on the blog, and in the store.

 

 

Veel woorden heeft hij niet nodig, het is vooral kijken.

Not a lot of words are necessary, just sit back and look.

 

Ik ben met het paperpack "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" van Graphic 45 aan de slag gegaan.

Het is zo een mooi en stevig papier dat ik er maar niet genoeg van kan krijgen.

There paper is so lovely and firm, I can't get enough of it.

 

Het leuke aan de paperpads van "graphic 45" is dat er van elk papier een dubbel zit en dat het soms vol met frames, borders en prenten zit.

Je hoeft dus alleen maar te knippen, lijmen en vooral denken hoe je het gaat verwerken. LOL!

The fun part about these Graphic 45 Paperpads is that you have 2 of each paper and sometimes it also has frames, borders and pictures.

 

De titel "The Twelve Days Of Christmas" is een populair liedje in de UK,

(Zet het maar eens in google, en je krijgt tientallen versies) en is hier in het papier gebruikt.

The titel "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is a very popular song in the UK (just google it, and you'll find several versions) and it is used here on the papers.

 

 

Elk blad is dus een dag, en dat kan je zien aan de borders langs de binders-kanten.

Every page is a day, this you can see at the borders on the binders side.

Het was de bedoeling dat je het album kon rechtzetten om zo een echte kerstboom te creëren.

I wanted to be able to put the album straight up, looking like a Christmas tree.

 

 

 

De vorm van de boom heb ik met de hand getekend in het silhouette programma.

Zo was het makkelijk uitsnijden en waren alle bladen gelijk!

The shape of the tree was created by hand in the Silhouette programm. So easy to cut and this way all the pages were the same!

 

Veel versieringen heb ik niet gebruikt.

Alleen heb ik langs de binnenkanten met kant en een transparante sheet een boord gemaakt waar ik de prenten, met later de foto's, onder kan steken.

I didn't use lots of decorations, I just added a border on the inside with a transparency and some lace, so I can put my pictures and labels in later.

 

 

Bij sommige bladen heb ik een soort van slinger gemaakt, die je dan over de andere bladen kan hangen, zodat je een echte versierde boom hebt.

On some pages I created kind of a garland. If you hang them on the pages, it looks like a decorated tree.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ik hoop jullie warm te hebben gemaakt om ook eens aan de slag te gaan, misschien voor volgend jaar dan al.

I hope this inspires you and gets you started on your own Christmas album, maybe for next year.

Ingepakt

 

Elk jaar opnieuw zijn er met kerst kleine cadeautjes of net iets grotere cadeaus maar één voor één hebben ze een verpakking nodig. Ik heb al een cadeautje in gedachten voor iemand speciaal en daarvoor maakte ik het volgende “kadoosje”.

 

Every Christmas  you’ll have some presents to give.  Little ones or maybe sometimes a bit bigger, but each one of them needs some kind of wrapping.  With one gift in mind I decided to create this giftbox.

 

 

Herkennen jullie opnieuw de stencil van TCW?  Deze keer ging er geen gesso door maar versamarkinkt dat gecombineerd werd met embossingpoeder…

 

Did you recognize the stencil of The Crafters Workshop again? This time it didn't use gesso but I pulled out my versamarkpen and some embossingpowder…

Giftcard

Kerstmis komt eraan en dat is ook de tijd van cadeautjes geven.  Soms heb je een mooi doosje nodig om het in te pakken maar soms maak je iemand blij met een giftcard, cinematickets,…

 

Christmas is the time of the year when people give others little gifts.  Sometimes you need a beautifull box to wrap it in, but sometimes you can make someone happy by giving a card with something inside: for example tickets to the movies, or a ballgame, a giftcard for a shop, ,…

 

En net om deze laatste op een leuke manier te kunnen geven maakte ik volgend kaartje.

And to hand over those little gifts I made this card.

 

Een envelopje in het midden om je giftcard of cinematickets in te stoppen kleed het net iets meer aan.  

I put the tickets in a waxed little envelop in the middle of the card and I stamped something on it just to finish it off.

 

En natuurlijk kan je deze kaart gans het jaar door gebruiken.  Gewoon het papier aanpassen en je hebt een hele leuke verjaardagskaart.

And of course you can choose to use this kind of card for every occasion.  Just choose another paper and you have got a really nice birthday card where you can put a little gift into it.

 

Benieuwd hoe makkelijk je dit kaartje maakt…kom even kijken in ’t woefke.

2de Kerstkaart voor workshop

Hallo iedereen,

Zoals beloofd laat ik jullie hier mijn 2de Kerstkaart voor de workshop van morgen zien. Dit is een zelfgemaakt envelopje dat als Santa aangekleed is, een leuke verrassing voor al wie hem krijgt. Het papier is van ATB en cardstock van Bazzill. Voor de rest heb ik nog gebruik gemaakt van Nestabilities en ponsen.

Hi everyone,

As promised I'm showing you my 2nd Christmas card for my workshop tomorrow. The body of Santa is a selfmade envelope, for the beard I used a Nestabilitie. I used paper from ATB and Bazzill Cardstock.

Magnolia kaart: Little Mermaid

Een kaartje dat ik al een tijdje af heb, maar vergeten was hier te plaatsen: the Little Mermaid.

A card I made a little while ago, but forgot to show you: The Little Mermaid.

Het papier is van ATB, de uitleg om de knoop te maken heb ik ergens op het net gevonden (en als ik nu nog wist waar, dan kon ik de link hier zetten)

The paper is from ATB, and the knot I made following a tutorial I found online, I just can't remember where or I would put the link here :)

Voor de rest heb ik nog een Cuttlebug mal gebruikt en een Martha Stewart edge pons. Stickles op het popje maakt de illusie van een zeemeermin nog échter.
