Hallo iedereen,
Hi everyone,
Onlangs wou ik iets speciaals maken voor een vriendin haar verjaardag,
en je kan natuurlijk gewoon een kaartje maken, maar ik wou eens "out of the box" denken.
En dit is het dus geworden: een explosion box ...
Ondertussen heeft de jarige hem ontvangen, dus kan ik m'n projektje hier laten zien.
A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to make something for a friend's birthday,
and instead of just making a card, I wanted something special
so this is the result: an explosion box ...
The box reached it's destination, so I can finally show it here.
Zo ziet hij er uit als je het deksel eraf neemt ...
de meeste explosion boxen vallen helemaal open,
maar hier heb ik gekozen om slechts de helft te laten opvallen
zo kon ik nog een achtergrond maken ...

Most explosion boxes fall open completly,
but I chose to keep half of it closed,
so I could make a background
Ik heb de achtergrond eerst met Salty Ocean geblend voor de lucht
de bomen zijn gemaakt met malletjes van Impression Obsession:
ik heb ze in het wit uitgestanst, dan bruin gemaakt met Distress inkt
en dan heb ik ze nog eens in het groen uitgestanst en elk bladje apart op de takken gekleefd
Dan nog enkele bloemetjes uitgestanst in verschillende kleuren
(ook van Impression Obsession) om zo bloesem te maken.

The trees were made with an Impression Obsession die
First I die cut them in white and blended them with Distress ink
Then I die cut them again from green, and attached each leaf seperatly on the branches
The flowers are also a die from IO and were cut from differnt colors.
Nog enkele wolkjes erbij en een luchtballon

I added some clouds and a hot air balloon

Het pronkstuk is natuurlijk de caravan,
die heb ik met de Cameo uitgesneden
The focus is this little camper
that I cut with my Cameo
Maar wat ging ik met de rest doen, gewoon groen laten
was geen optie - veel te kaal - dus ...
een gezellig tuintje erbij ...
Het voetpaadje heb ik ook zelf gemaakt met textuur pasta
But what about the rest ? Just leaving it green
wasn't an option - too bare - so ..
how about a little garden ...
The stepping stones were made with texture paste
Een vijver mocht natuurlijk ook niet ontbreken:
de reiger is van Impression Obsession, de bloemetjes in het gras ook
de waterlelies zijn van Hero Arts
(wil je weten hoe je die moet maken? dan heb je de kans tijdens een workshop in april)
en wat is een vijver zonder enkele eendjes ?!
I just had to add a pond:
the heron is also a die from IO as well as the little flowers in the grass
The water lilies are from Hero Arts
(if you want to know how to make those, we'll work with them
in an upcomming workshop in April)
and really ... what's a pond without little ducklings ?!

En dan kwam een grote uitdaging ...
ik wou absoluut een tuinbankje maken
maar ja, dat vind je dus niet hè, zeker niet op het juiste formaat
dus zat er niets anders op dan zelf te beginnen ontwerpen
en met de hand uitsnijden, het 1ste was te groot
het 2de perfect !
Nog wat takjes (IO) er achter ... onderaan de poten wat flowersoft als gras
en natuurlijk een klein konijntje (IO)
And now for a challenge ...
I absolutly wanted a garden bench
that sounds easier then it was, because there is no die for it
and even if I could find one, it was never going to be the right size
so I had to design it myself, and then cut it by hand
my 1st one was too big, the 2nd one was perfect !
I added some bushes (IO) and flowersoft on the ground for grass
and a little bunny (IO)
Oh ja, en in 1 van de bomen heb ik nog een vogelhuisje gehangen,
er komt zelfs al een vogeltje kijken of het wel geschikt is :)
Oh, and I added a little bird house in 1 of the trees
there is even a little bird that's trying it out :)
De caravan heb ik ook versierd
met een vlaggenlijn (MFT Up in the air)
The camper is even decorated with a banner
from MFT Up in the air.
En om van dit alles te genieten: een ligstoeltje
met kussentje en opgevouwen handdoekje
ook dit bestond niet, maar dit was gelukkig
makkelijker te ontwerpendan de tuin bank LOL
En de flip flops mochten ook niet ontbreken
gelukkig had ik nog een houten stempel van Penny Black
die perfect was, dus ff snel ingekleurd en uitgeknipt
en voilà, m'n explosion box was nét op tijd klaar !
To enjoy all this scenery : a little sunbed
with pillow and folded towel
again not a die that exists, but luckily this was
easier to design and cut than the garden bench LOL
Then I searched for some matching flip flops
luckily I have a wooden Penny Black stamp
that had the right size, so I stamped and colored them
and then fuzzy cut them out and put them next to the bed.
My explosion box was ready just on time !
Zo, de jarige was er heel blij mee
wat vinden jullie er van ?
The birthday girl was happy with it
